Adam Honeckman is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal medicine. He graduated from the Purdue University in 1992 and completed an internship at Purdue in 1993. After 4 years of general practice in the Chicago area, he was accepted for a small animal internal medicine residency at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York. The Animal Medical Center is one of the largest animal hospitals in North America, seeing 70,000 cases per year. Dr. Honeckman gained extensive experience in ultrasonography and endoscopy at the Animal Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Honeckman also worked at a referral hospital on Long Island with board-certified specialists, including a cardiologist, internist, surgeon, and ophthalmologist.
Adam Honeckman completed his residency in 1999, and was awarded Teacher of the Year by the graduating intern class. Dr. Honeckman has published several journal articles and research abstracts on a variety of topics such as canine immune-mediated hemolytic anemia, feline inflammatory bowel disease, and feline mammary neoplasia. Although his special interests include gastroenterology, oncology, cardiology, and hematology, Dr. Honeckman enjoys challenging cases in any aspect of internal medicine.
